Is it quicker to cook or get takeaway?


All I wanted to do was watch the Olympic games hockey and The Bridge (Swedish crime series). It was quicker to fry rosemary-coated haloumi with sweet potato fries than get a pizza. The packet says to roast the fries in the oven but it is much quicker to thaw them in the microwave and fry them in a pan.

As a child, fish fingers or chops would have been the choice for Sunday night, but now we are vegetarian.


The sweet potato fries have a very low glycaemic index (GI). If you add vinegar, this lowers the GI even more which is great for preventing/managing diabetes.

I have just begun a research project looking at Dietary Inflammatory Index (DII). Diets that cause inflammation are linked to chronic diseases.

It turns out that rosemary is one of 45 food parameters given an anti-inflammatory score.
